SCFC Parents and Supporters:
First, thanks to all of you who have supported the Space City Futbol Club in our last year’s endeavors.
We have had some recent changes occur and we are extremely happy with the direction the club is taking with Randy Evans at the helm as our Executive Director. We still have the challenges of a growing club, but there seems to be a very clear path forward. We will continue to move SCFC forward towards our mission statement.
Our competitive team tryouts are nearly complete, and we have had some significant increases on the boys’ side. We have also managed to augment our professional staff with the addition of Paul Dalglish (former Dynamo and current Dynamo Academy staff) and Corbin Waller (3rd string Dynamo keeper), truly exciting times for the program.
We are excited to take advantage of Randy’s 16 years of college experience and contacts to develop a comprehensive college placement and recruiting education program, like no other club in this area has, for both our Girl’s and Boy’s Competitive Program.
Our recreational program continues to grow, creating the challenges of ensuring we are servicing this facet of our organization appropriately. There is a committee right now that is planning an exciting beginning to the new soccer year, centered around picture day, look for more to come on that front. Again, Mr. Evans is leading here, with the help of our other capable professional and volunteer staff.
As adjustments are made and parents move their children based on what they think is best for them, our club volunteer list will change. We look forward to re-staffing our board and committee positions over the coming months as this occurs. Please keep your eye open for the position that fits you, keeping in mind that these positions are for shaping the direction the club is headed.
For those that have chosen to move to other clubs, or leave soccer, I truly hope that you find what is best for you and your family.
We at SCFC are: "committed to becoming the premier full service soccer club for boys and girls in Houston and South Texas, Region III, USYS, and the United States. We strive to be recognized for creation a FUN, positive learning environment for player of all levels, from recreational participants to aspiring elite performers."
We will continue to strive toward that in the near future. Stay tuned as we continue to shape our exciting path forward!
